Twelve volunteers helped reduce erosion October 6, 2009 at the newly completed Little Butte Mill Dam Weir in Eagle Point. The reseeding effort is part of the new project to raise the elevation of the jump pool below the dam. Because of the weir, fish should have an easier time reaching the first step of the ladder, as well as making the leap over the dam.
The volunteer crew spread grass seed, fertilizer, and straw to reduce the chance of sediment runoff into the creek during winter rains. A big thank you goes to the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America for all their help.
